Yellow box junction cameras along Regent Road and on Trinity Way

Salford City Council is proposing to install yellow box junction cameras at four key intersections along Regent Road and on Trinity Way to improve air quality and road safety.

Yellow box junction cameras identify drivers who stop in the marked yellow areas at junctions, mainly to stop traffic jams and keep things moving smoothly. If a car illegally blocks the box, the cameras record it, and fines can be issued to the driver.

When traffic gets stuck in the junctions, it causes more congestion and makes the air quality worse for residents nearby. Putting these cameras in place helps keep the yellow boxes clear, so traffic moves better and the air stays cleaner.

Here are the locations where we are proposing to install the cameras:

  • West side of the Regent Road M602 Roundabout
  • East side of the Regent Road M602 Roundabout
  • Junction of Regent Road and Oldfield Road
  • Junction of Regent Road and Ordsall Lane
  • Junction of Trinity Way and Irwell Street

Take the one-minute survey to let us know if you support these proposals.
