Ordsall Lane

The proposals aim to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, manage traffic flow, and enhance public transport facilities along Ordsall Lane and connecting streets.

Ordsall Lane Proposals Plan 1 of 3

Three sheet proposals map for Ordsall Lane and connecting streets including Everard Street, Worrall Street, Oldfield Road, Fairbrother Street, and St Clement’s Street. Sheet 1 introduces limited waiting parking bays on Ordsall Lane, a new puffin crossing, and a proposed bus stop. Carriageway width is reduced with an island for safer pedestrian crossing. A new one way system on Worrall Street includes no entry signs and build outs. The legend shows proposed and existing footways, carriageway resurfacing, controlled and uncontrolled crossings, and parking restrictions.

Sheet 2 adds junction improvements with signalised crossings and realigned footways at the Oldfield Road/ Ordsall Lane junction connecting the shared footway and cycleway to West Park Street, and relocated bus stops. Parking bays and loading areas on Everard Street are retained or adjusted. One way restrictions on Worral Street and signage are reinforced.

Sheet 3 includes additional puffin crossings, new bus stops, and potential bus stop relocations near St Clement’s Street. Existing parking restrictions on Ordsall Lane remain. The plan aims to improve pedestrian safety, cycling connectivity, and public transport access while managing traffic flow and parking.

Taylorson Street

The proposals aim to improve walking and cycling connections, calm traffic, and enhance links to public transport and green spaces along Taylorson Street and Ordsall Lane.

Taylorson Street Proposals Plan 1 of 2 

Two sheet proposals map for Taylorson Street South and its connection to Ordsall Lane and Exchange Quay tram stop. Sheet 1 shows improvements for walking and cycling, including realigned footways, dropped kerbs, tactile paving, and raised crossings with tactile surfaces. A 5 metre wide toucan crossing is proposed to improve access to Monmouth Park. Quietway routes link to Exchange Quay and beyond, with dropped kerbs for cycle access. A 20 mph speed limit is introduced. Existing Car Club parking bays remain. Planting areas for sustainable drainage and new trees are proposed alongside seating and soft landscaping. The legend identifies proposed and existing footways, carriageway resurfacing, controlled and uncontrolled crossings, cycle symbols, seating, planting, trees, and parking restrictions.

Sheet 2 continues footway improvements with hazard warning paving, dropped kerbs, and tactile paving. Quietway links and cycle access points are reinforced. Existing speed cushions remain, and additional speed bumps are proposed. Planting for sustainable drainage and landscaping enhancements are included. The plan aims to create a safer, greener, and more accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists.
