Hulton Street

The proposals aim to improve walking and cycling connections, calm traffic, and enhance the environment along Hulton Street and its links to surrounding streets and green spaces.

Two sheet proposals map for Hulton Street and nearby streets including West Craven Street, Phoebe Street, Greenwood Terrace, Groves Avenue, and Ordsall Park. Sheet 1 introduces Quietway treatment along West Craven Street to link to Phoebe Street, new alignment of footways with tactile paving at crossings. On Hulton Street, a ramp with crossing facility and new footway build outs are proposed to improve accessibility. Existing parking bays remain. Sheet 2 adds a raised junction at the bottom of Hulton Street to improve walking and cycling links, a dropped kerb for cycle access, and environmental improvements such as reviewing trees, lighting, and potential public art. Existing pathways will be cleaned and relaid where required. The plan aims to create a safer, more attractive route for walking and cycling while maintaining parking and improving drainage.

New Park Road and Ordsall Park

The proposals aim to improve walking and cycling connections, enhance green spaces, and create a safer environment around New Park Road and Ordsall Park.

The plan includes widening the existing park footpath to a 3 metre shared footway and cycleway, cleaning and relaying pedestrian walkways adjacent to the park, and linking to existing paths with added trees and landscaping. A raised junction is proposed on New Park Road to create a safer walking and cycling connection to Ordsall Park. Potential wildflower planting is indicated to improve the environment. The legend shows proposed footway works, landscaping, resurfacing of the carriageway, cycle symbols, start and end points for shared footway and cycleway, uncontrolled crossings, and traffic calming measures. West Park Street, Colman Gardens and Phoebe Street

The proposals aim to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, enhance public spaces, and calm traffic along Phoebe Street, Colman Gardens, and West Park Street, including connections to nearby routes and schools.

Phoebe Street to Colman Gardens Proposals Plan 1 of 2

Two sheet proposals map covering Phoebe Street, Colman Gardens, West Park Street, and nearby roads. Sheet 1 focuses on public realm improvements near shops, including cycle parking and seating. Junction realignment and road narrowing reduce crossing distances and calm turning speeds. Wider footways and planting for sustainable drainage are proposed. A raised zebra crossing (5 m wide) and a raised junction in front of Primrose Hill Primary School to improve pedestrian safety. Proposals include changing the mini roundabout to a ‘give way’ junction and realignment to reduce crossing distances and calm driver turning speeds. Bus stops are relocated, and parking lay bys are adjusted, including removal of one space to eliminate a pinch point. Limited waiting bays are introduced. Sheet 2 adds road narrowing to shorten crossing distances, removal of double yellow lines to allow parking, and improvements to an existing traffic free route at the back of St Clement’s Church and the link between Colman Gardens and West Park Street, including widening for better sight lines. A modal filter is reconfigured to include a cycle link, and shared traffic free connections to Hulton Street are noted. Landscape improvements and links to other development sites are indicated. The plan aims to improve pedestrian safety, cycling connectivity, and public space quality.
